Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers

- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the team access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
