A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
